NYLATRON® GS (PA 66 + MoS2)

Color:

NYLATRON GS (PA 66 + MoS2) (black gray)

Nylatron™ GS, a MoS₂-reinforced polyamide 66, is distinguished by its rigidity, strength and increased stability compared to other PA66s. These properties allow parts made from this material to better maintain their clearances and adjustment tolerances, thus limiting the risk of seizure. It is therefore particularly suitable for the manufacture of bushings, plain bearing rings, rollers, roller wheels, pulleys, sheaves, wear pads, valve seats and seals, particularly in the construction and heavy equipment sectors.

The molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) filler makes this material slightly stiffer, harder and more dimensionally stable than ERTALON 66 SA, but results in a slight loss in impact resistance. The nucleation effect of MoS2 results in a finer crystalline structure, improving friction and wear behaviour.

properties:
– Charged MoS₂
– Remarkable mechanical resistance and rigidity
– Better stability than other polyamides 66
– Maintains clearances and adjustments
– Reduced risk of seizure

Comparison with other Nylatron™:

Nylatron™ GS stands out from other materials in the Nylatron™ range due to its specific MoS₂ formulation, which improves its rigidity and dimensional stability. Here’s how it compares to other references in the same family:

Nylatron™ MC 901 : Modified polyamide 6 offering improved impact resistance and good resilience, ideal for applications requiring increased flexibility.

Nylatron™ NSM : PA6 loaded with solid lubricant, optimized for minimal wear and excellent sliding performance, especially for high motion frequency applications.

Nylatron™ GSM : MoS₂ reinforced polyamide 6 like GS, but with better resistance to wear and high loads.

Nylatron™ 703XL : PA6 specially designed for applications requiring extreme precision and unmatched dimensional stability, ideal for high-precision mechanical components. NYLATRON 703 XL is the only polyamide that eliminates the "stick-slip" effect in all circumstances

The choice between these materials depends on the specific constraints of the application, such as load, wear, impact resistance and sliding requirements.

Applications of Nylatron™ GS

Due to its superior mechanical characteristics, Nylatron™ GS is widely used in various industries for demanding applications:
– Mechanical industry and heavy equipment: bushings, plain bearing rings, rollers, roller wheels
– Handling and transport sector: pulleys, sheaves, guides and wear pads
– Construction and civil engineering: valve seats, seals and components of structures subject to heavy loads
– Automation and industrial machines: friction parts, supports and elements subjected to intense mechanical stress

With its excellent stability and increased strength, Nylatron™ GS is a powerful choice for applications requiring precise tolerances and reduced galling, extending component life and reducing maintenance costs.
